2016 NBA Playoff Round 2 - Game Day 10

The Heat won game 4 at home by 7 points in the 3rd overtime game of the series. Game 4 was played without injured players Valenciunas (who was ruled out of the series) and Whiteside (listed as day-to-day). Lowry struggled on 2-of-11 shooting, fouling out with 1:58 to play with only 10pts. With the Raptors up by 2 with only a minute left, Derozan accidentally kicked the ball only to get it back after it rebounded off Dragic's face. Derozan put up a shot which missed, but he gained the offensive rebound after Patterson tipped the rebound back to him. After a timeout with 40sec left, Joseph missed a baseline jumper and Wade dribbled the ball up the court. With 12sec left, the defense didn't anticipate an early drive, and Wade exploded through the lane for a layup against 4 defenders to tie the game. In overtime, with the Heat up by 4 with a minute to go, Wade put up a layup which bounced off the front of the rim then bounced softly hitting the back of the rim, where it lay there stuck without going down. This resulted in a jumpball, which Toronto won resulting in a Derozan field goal. Up by 2, Miami's Dragic scored on a layup plus the foul to stretch the lead to 5. On the ensuing possession, Wade trapped the ballhandler at 3/4 court, stealing the ball for a 2-handed slam. Wade finished with 30pts as the rest of the Heat struggled, combining for only 1-of-12 3-pters. The series will return to Toronto for game 5, with the series tied 2-2.

The Warriors won game 4 in Portland in overtime to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. Curry returned from a sprained right knee injury, coming off the bench to score 40pts, 9reb, 8asts in 37min of play. Curry led the Warriors to a 7 point win, running away with the game by scoring an NBA record 17pts in overtime, outscoring the entire Blazers team who had 14pts in overtime. Curry was only expected to play 25min, but starting guard Livingston was ejected after receiving 2 technicals for arguing a call before halftime. The Warriors trailed by as much as 16pts, as Portland scored a franchise playoff record 41pts in the 2nd qtr, including 17 from Lillard who notched 36pts and 10asts. Klay had 23pts and Green had 21pts with a career-high 7 blocks. With 1:07 to go, Curry missed a 3-pter with the Blazers leading by 1 and Plumlee extended the lead to 3 with a layup. After a timeout, the Warriors turned to Barnes who nailed a game-tying 3-pter. Lillard missed a stepback jumper and Curry had a chance to win the game but missed a running bank shot. Green got an offensive tip as the buzzer expired, but it also missed. Curry took over in overtime, hitting 6 consecutive shots including 3 3-pters, then turned to the crowd and told them "I'm back". Curry missed his first 9 3-pters, but was able to score 27pts off 5-of-7 3-pters in q4 and overtime combined. He is the second player in the last 30yrs to score 40pts off the bench in a playoff game (the other was Nick Van Exel in 2003). The Warriors have a chance to finish the series with game 5 returning to Golden State.
