In last year’s Eastern Conference Finals, with the score tied 2-2 in game 5, Miami faced elimination after going down 2-3 after losing to Boston. Lebron willed his team to a win in game 6 by scoring 45pts, 15reb, 5ast on the road to tie it at 3-3, and Miami then went on to win game 7 to advance to the Finals. Game 6 shifts back to Indiana where Miami can eliminate Indiana with one more win, or else face a game 7 at home. David Beckham and Floyd Mayweather Jr attended with courtside seats.
The Heat won game 5 at home against Indiana, and are now 1 win away from returning to the NBA Finals for the 3rd straight year. Indiana were up by 6 early in the 3rd qtr, until the Heat went on a 30-10 run in the next 11min, led by Lebron who recorded 16pts (7-of-10 field goals), 4ast, 4reb in that quarter. Scoring or assisting on 25 of Miami's points in the 3rd, Lebron capped off his run with a deep 3-pter to beat the shot clock towards the end of the quarter. He ended up with 30pts, 8reb, 6ast.
Heats’ Udonis Haslem made his last 8 shots on 8-of-9 field goals and finished with 16pts. Chris Andersen continued his streak and has made all 15 of his shots in this series. Indiana's Paul George had 27pts, 11reb and Roy Hibbert had 22pts.
