2013 NBA Playoff Round 2 - Game Day 1

The Pacers stole home court advantage from the Knicks, beating them in Madison Square Garden. Carmelo scored 27pts but was forced to sit out early after getting into foul trouble. The Knicks and Pacers have squared off against each other 6 times in the playoffs, and both have won 3 times each. The Knicks have failed to win a playoff series 5 times after losing game 1 at home, the last time was also to the Pacers.

OKC beat the Grizzlies in OKC, winning by 2pts. Down by 1, Derek Fisher stole the ball and Kevin Durant hit the go-ahead jumper in transition, giving him a game high 35pts. He also had 15 rebounds and 6 assists, becoming the first Thunder/Sonics player to record 35/15/5 in a playoff game. Grizzlies’ Quincy Pondexter was fouled shooting a 3-pter and had a chance to tie with 3 free throws, but missed his first. OKC’s Kevin Martin finished with 25pts. OKC missed its first 10 shots, as both teams combined for only 30pts in the first quarter, followed by 63pts in the second.

Russell Westbrook gets injured and has surgery putting him out for the rest of the playoffs, Kevin Durant scores playoff career high 41pts in game 3 without Westbrook
Grizzlies win 4 in a row after losing the first 2 games in LAC
James Harden suffers from the flu (later upgraded to strep throat), starts game 5 and hits seven 3-pters
